Slow down, you’re doing fine.
Wherever you are in your journey toward personal growth, healing, or success please know this:
The road will. not be smooth. It wasn’t ever meant to be. You will have days where you can’t focus, days where you feel lost, and days where you just can’t will yourself to the habits you are working hard to establish. Some days you may not be able to conjure up the stamina necessary to keep going, growing, and accomplishing.
It’s normal. It’s human. And the remedy?…
Grace.
Compassion.
Given to yourself, by you.
The fears we cling to on days we just can’t “get there” ultimately become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Pressure stretches us and expands our capacity to tolerate hard things. But I’m not talking about pressure. I’m talking about the self-criticism, extremes standards, and fears we so tightly grip on our '“off days.”
Those are the moments that actually carry a huge opportunity. An opportunity to move toward your goals, to nurture your relationship with yourself, and to get unstuck. But all too often this opportunity is missed by the distraction of self-loathing, comparison, fear, numbing out, avoidance, you name it.
It’s when we you let yourself be human and experience the natural ebbs and flows of progress and setback that you make much wider strides toward your goals. There will be seasons in your life of striving and pushing the limits on how much you can handle. We need those experiences too. But it’s not the only way to grow and evolve. Slowing down and giving yourself permission to have an off day is also a part of personal growth, healing, and success.
And I wonder, that voice in your head that is telling you it’s bad to have an off day and to not slow down, whose voice is that? Does it even belong to you?
Tune into YOUR inner voice. Right now, in this moment wherever you are reading this, if this resonates with you, relinquish yourself from needing what it is you feel you are lacking today. For today, slow down, let things be how they are, and give yourself grace.
Let go of the attachments you cling to today so you can step into tomorrow more connected, more self-aware, and more nurtured.
You’re doing just fine :)
